Acquired Taste.

Acquired taste.
Fortunate, imported taste.
Can’t be purchased at your local liqour store.
Threads straight off the runway.
Vintage, thrift store.
Acquired taste.
No one can relate.
The magnitude of your rhythm correlates with my inner thoughts.
I may say i’m done with you, but the light switch aint off.
Love lives here.
It always has.
This taste is sacred, always been.
Like i never left, its still here.
Bittersweet.
You’re an acquired taste, better yet the only taste for me.

Eyes open.

I've got to dream to keep my eyes open.
It's hard being the only one hoping.
Life isn't easy.
Trying to progress with constant envy.
Friends masked as enemies.
I've got to dream to keep my eyes open.
Visualizing goal attainment.
Not seeking validation or a handout.
Having a slice of my humble pie.
Honest, looking people straight in their eyes.
Willing to magnetize, multiply.
I'm dreaming with my eyes open.
No one can see my vision, yet I'm still hoping.

Spirit of the Sun.

Spirit of the sun.
Spirit of the sun.
You bloom my flowers.
You water my grass.
You look in my eyes instead of staring at my ass.
I feel like a woman.
I feel finally human.
Spirit of the sun.
The strawberry in your scent.
Our memories i reminisce.
Syrup cinnamon and honey dew.
I correlate these things with you.
Spirit of the sun.
Heart of a lion.
Enraging my soul making us align.
Lyrically inclined.
Verbally.
Physically.
Figuratively.
Mine.

Strange Fruit

Strange fruit.
We are just strange fruit.
Dangling by the moon.
Waiting to be pursued.
We are just strange fruit.
On a pursuit to happiness with no happy in us.
Searching for love looking for people to love us.
Hurting internally, smiling visionary.
Our inner demons give our souls meanings.
Our hurt describes our actions.
Our demeanor determines our outcomes.
We look to the sun but seek no answers.
Yet the answers belong in us. Strange fruit. Look up.
The apple doesn’t fall too far.
